Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry serves the students, faculty, and staff of Concordia University Texas, by inviting all to gather, grow and go on mission with Jesus.

No matter who you are, what you believe, how much you know about God or the Bible, or what you have done, we want you to know that you belong here. The love of God is for you. The gift of salvation is a freely given gift for you. Our goal is to walk alongside you and serve you wholeheartedly so that you might meet, know and follow the one who has changed our lives forever, Jesus.

YOU BELONG HERE. Join us.

Watch this short video of Pastor Jake sharing the overall mission and work of Campus Ministry.

Campus Ministry Logo

We are a passionate group of people who follow the teachings and unforced rhythms of grace given by Jesus. We are formed into who God desires us to become by three specific experiences.
Gather Icon

GATHER to worship

Jesus invites us to GATHER in a community of friends to meet His presence to worship God. Gather experiences strengthen our relationship with God by forming habits of hearing the Word of God, praying, generosity, baptismal remembrance, showing hospitality, and confessing our sins. Our two main GATHER experiences are the weekly chapel and refuge worship.

Grow Icon

GROW in a life group

Jesus invites us to GROW in our relationship with God and other people by being discipled by others. The primary experience in campus ministry to grow in your faith is by joining a life group. A life group is a small group of people who read God’s Word and practice what it says.

Go Icon

GO on a mission trip

Jesus invites us to GO into our daily life to join Him on His mission to help others meet, know and follow Him. Campus ministry offers short-term and long-term experiences in our local Austin community and worldwide.

What is Life

What is life? Our theme for the year is a provocative existential question we want our community to ask and answer. We take our lead from Jesus who talked about His very presence and person being life-giving for all people. John 10:10 “I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of” (MSG).

Life Groups

A life group is a small group of people who read God’s Word and practice what it says. Students (and sometimes staff/faculty) of two or more meet weekly to talk about life, read the Bible, pray, and have fun together (often over a meal or drinks). Life groups meet online, on campus, and also off campus. You can join a group or start your own.

Chapel

Chapel services at Concordia gather students, faculty, staff, and alumni from various ethnicities, nationalities, languages, cultures, socioeconomic statuses, and theological and liturgical convictions. Chapels are Christ-centered, informed by a Lutheran interpretation of Scripture, and focused on giving glory to Jesus. Christ is honored, and all are welcome.

Chapels are offered three times a week on MWF @ 10 am in the Chapel in the Welcome Center(Building A).

Refuge

Refuge is a student-led worship community once a week on Thursdays @ 9 pm in the Chapel in The Welcome Center (Building A). The refuge name comes from Psalm 9:9, “The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”

Students together

The Campus Ministry Team at Concordia wants to be able to pray for your needs, so we are collecting prayer requests from our Concordia family. We encourage and invite you to send your prayer requests to prayers@pormir.com.
